Who We Are
Our Story
The International Association for Information on Artificial Depigmentation (AIIDA) is a non-profit, apolitical association, created on January 19, 2002 in Dakar.
The creation of this association obeys the need to prevent the medical complications of this practice, which constitutes a public health priority.
OUR GOALS
Raise awareness and information about the harmful effects of artificial depigmentation (called "xeesal" in Senegal).
Develop relevant messages for the prevention of artificial depigmentation.
Organize the support of practitioners for the appropriate management of the complications of this practice.
OUR ACTIVITIES
Public lectures on complications of AD.
Sensitization workshops for journalists on the negative consequences of AD (2003).
"Skin and Xeesal" days (from 06 March to 09 March 2004).
Celebration of International Women's Day.
Radio and television broadcasts, national and international press articles on the Xeesal.
Radio-crochets.
Awareness raising among students and students and youth associations.
OUR RESOURCES
Membership fees and sales of membership cards.
Private donations.
Sponsorship of pharmaceutical companies.
